Memorial services for Tricia Gail Brown Cates, 50, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cates was born February 5, 1967 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Patricia Louise (Hawkins) and the late James William Brown, and died Saturday, January 20, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Cates loved spending time with her grandkids and loved to laugh. She enjoyed drinking coffee, riding the back roads, camping and fishing. Her hobbies were painting and writing. Cooking and cleaning the house were things she enjoyed doing for her family. Mrs. Cates was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Brandy Allen and husband Paul Wayne of Lufkin, Brittany Cates of Douglass, and Molissa Work of Lufkin; grandchildren, Kelley Hawkins, Dawtyn Hawkins, Hunter Allen, Tanner Allen, Siani Eldridge, Jazlin Eldridge, Izabella Cates, and Bry’Len Work; mother, Patricia Hawkins-Brown of Bastrop, Louisiana; siblings and spouses, James Ray Brown and Stacey of Lufkin, Robbie Brown and Shelley of Kennard, Cindy Rainbolt and Todd of Bastrop, Louisiana, Sherri Stephens and Mitch of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, Toby Brown, Mickey Brown and Marsha, and Kevin Hawkins and Tonya, all of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Donna Kirby and Joe of Trinity; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father; and the fathers of her children, Billy Joe Cates and Rexal Len Work.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Grimes, Shannon Free, Roy Bradley, Robbie Brown, James Brown and Paul Wayne Allen.
