Graveside services for Shawna Le (Byars) Plyler, 48, of Huntington will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Zavalla Cemetery with Brother Steve Cowart officiating.
Shawna was born October 6, 1969 in Lufkin, Texas to Elmar Jean (Gaskamp) and James Walter Byars, and died Monday, June 11, 2018 in a local hospital.
Shawna had resided in the Lufkin area all of her life. She was a Registered Nurse and was employed at Texas Home Health, Trinity Mission, Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Plyler of Huntington; son, Corey James Plyler of Huntington; stepdaughter, Brittney Hillary of Atlanta, Georgia; stepson, Patrick Hall of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Desiree Beatty, Riley Hillary, and Evan Hall; parents, James Walter "J.W." and Jean Byars; brother, Larry Byars and wife Samantha of Huntington; nephews, Joshua Byars of Huntington and Kaylon Saltzman of Central; niece, Keri Setters of Huntington; brother-in-law, Donald Plyler of Atlanta, Georgia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Pat LaFontaine of Athens, Georgia; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Walter Byars; grandparents, Cotton and Abbie Gaskamp and Harold and Nellie Byars; and father-in-law, Dixon Plyler.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin.
