Private graveside services for Randal Mace Doss, 58, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, April 25, 2020 in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery under the auspices of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. with Brother Ron Meadows officiating.

Randal was born May 22, 1961 in Lufkin, Texas to (the late) William E. Doss and Joan Mace Doss. He died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Doss was a lifelong resident of Lufkin and was the Director of Technology Solutions for The Vibration Guys of Pearland, Texas He was a Licensed Master Electrician and Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional with over 30 years experience in rotating machinery diagnostics, certified as a Category III Vibration Analyst. His membership with the Vibration Institute gained him the respect of subject matter experts throughout several industries. He contributed many “white papers” on vibration theory and methodology. His career lead him through employment by manufacturing, maintenance, and troubleshooting companies – traveling domestically and internationally to correct installation, alignment, and vibration anomalies in rotating equipment. He was involved in the development of high-speed camera technology being implemented today for vibration and alignment issues on problem installations. He enjoyed the intricate, complicated and problematic opportunities that tested his ability and required him to draw on his years of experience in the industry. Mr. Doss was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Jason Pierson, Heather and Judd F. Williamson, all of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Ashley Doss of Eagle River, Alaska; and stepson, Matt Lowery and Jada Yarbrough of Lufkin; grandchildren, Ada, Adrian, and Austin Pierson, Samantha and Gregory Williamson, Azrith Doss; mother, Joan Mace Doss of Lufkin; brother, Stuart Doss of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Dede and Steve Kolb of Lufkin; nieces and nephew, Ashley, Amanda, Anthony, and Diana; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. “Bill” Doss.

Pallbearers will be Stuart Doss, Anthony Doss, Steve Kolb, Greg Stephenson, Robert Scoggins, Mike Scoggins, Robert Haynes and Bret Gibbs.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bramham Reddy and his staff and the Day surgery staff of Woodland Heights Medical Center for the compassionate care they provided for Randal above and beyond their obligation to administer, along with our special gratitude for the loving ministry of Hospice in the Pines.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or to the Fielder Memorial Cemetery Association, 9427 FM 326, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
