Visitation for Millie Palmieri, 76, of Etoile will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Entombment will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri at a later date.
Mrs. Palmieri was born September 16, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas and adopted by Helen Ida (Sanders) and Oscar Ben “Red” DeLaney, and died Monday, July 5, 2021 in Tyler.
Millie grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Roy Miller High in 1962. She traveled and lived in many states throughout the United States in her lifetime. Millie worked hard her whole life to support her family, not only financially but emotionally. She started working with Social Security in the 1960’s. She eventually worked her way up to President/COO of 1st Commerce Mortgage in Corpus Christi in 1995.
She always passionately loved animals, and raised a variety from a fox, peacocks, love birds, and canaries to many beloved dogs.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, David Palmieri of Etoile; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Jason Freeland of Austin; stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Dina Donaldson; and granddaughters, Lauren, Rylie, and Kara Freeland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff; and brother, Ralph William DeLaney.
