Interment will follow in the Rocky Hill Cemetery with Brother Marlow Shubert officiating.
Justin passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was born August 13, 1982 to parents, Rodney and Becky (Welch) Haverland.
Justin was a 2001 graduate of Huntington High School and was attending Dallas Institute of Funeral Services to obtain his license to become a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing, and was proficient at all instruments he attempted, especially the drums. In his youth, he played the drums for Lufkin First UPC. He loved his family and friends and the time he spent with them.
Justin was one of a kind. He had a unique talent for being able to make people feel at ease and comfortable – an attribute that served him well in his service oriented careers. From his 20 years at Brown Shoe Fit, to his tenure at Carroway Funeral Home – he was passionate about taking care of people and their needs. Customers from his years at Brown Shoe Fit would see him around town, saying how much they missed having him take care of them at the store. The families he assisted with at Carroway always remarking on the compassionate and caring nature he showed them at such a difficult time – how much it meant to them. Whatever endeavors Justin embarked on he always did it passionately. There are so many words we could use to describe him – trustworthy, loyal, successful, caring, generous, professional, reliable – to name just a few. But he was most known for his quick wit, outrageous sense of humor, and infectious laugh. If you were fortunate enough to have known Justin and fortunate enough to have had him as a friend – you had a friend for life. It is rare in today’s world to come across someone who can truly leave a good, uplifting lasting impression on you, and without a doubt Justin was such a rarity.
Survivors include his parents, Rodney and Becky Haverland; and sister and brother-in-law, Julie Haverland-Allen and Nicholas Allen.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Dannie Haverland, Huey and Alice Welch, John and Louise Foster; uncle, Judson Welch; aunt, Debbie Haverland; and cousins, Joshua Welch, Cody Rogers, and Krystal Haverland Stanbery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Welch, Jonathan Welch, Jacob Welch, Jon Paul Sinclair, Nolan May, and Kevin Sanderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kent Childers and Ray Lynn Pinner.
The family wants to thank all those from Carroway Funeral Home who have given Justin the most remarkable and memorable ending to his life.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Joseph House, P.O. Box 150554, Lufkin, Texas 75901 in memory of his grandparents, John and Louise Foster.
