Ellis Thomas, Jr.

Funeral services for Ellis Thomas, Jr., 87, of Wells will be held Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Elton Musick officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Pollok Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas was born March 9, 1935 in New Iberia, Louisiana to the late Esther Ruth (Huff) and Ellis Thomas, Sr., and died Monday, August 29, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Thomas retired from the U.S. Air Force and was an ordained Baptist minister for over 60 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Thomas of Wells; daughters and son-in-law, Cathy and Johnny Norred of Wells and Linda Rhodes of Lufkin; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Thomas; and daughter, Marianne Brown.

Pallbearers will be Josh Richards, Mike Norred, Wes Norred, Chris Thomas, Doug Rhodes, and Mark Thomas Richardson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
