Doyle Alford

Funeral services for Doyle Alford, 45, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cory Capps officiating. Interment will follow in Gann Cemetery.

Mr. Alford was born April 30, 1979 in Choudrant, Louisiana, and died Thursday, August 15, 2024 at his residence. He was employed with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer. Mr. Alford was a Bigfoot enthusiast and loved hunting. He enjoyed umpiring Little Leage baseball and refereeing high school and college football. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda (Moore) Alford of Lufkin; son, Matthew Hancock of Houston; daughters, Katie Hancock of Nacogdoches and Lillie Alford of Lufkin; grandchildren, Daylor Pinkston and Eliza Pinkston; mother, Jan (Huey) Molandes of Worcester, Massachusetts; father and stepmother, Wayman and Cindy Barham of Ruston, Louisiana; sister, Rebecca Alford of Nacogdoches; parents-in-law, Ronnie and Loretta Moore of Lufkin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Whitney Moore of Navasota, Thomas and Jessica Moore, Colmesneil, Michael and Chantehl Moore of Grapeland; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Jo Barham and stepfather, Tuffy Molandes.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Hancock, Kenneth Moore, Thomas Moore, Michael Moore, Caleb Moore, Joshua Moore, Katie Hancock, and Logan Moore.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
