Debbie Ruth Abens

Funeral services for Debbie Ruth Abens, 60, of Huntington will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett and Brother Ron Fant officiating. Interment will follow in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Abens was born November 8, 1956 in Woodville, Texas to the late Ozella F. (Woodard) and William F. Fry, and died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Abens resided in Huntington most of her life. Her life centered around her family and her church family. She was a member of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ and was the custodian there for more than 40 years. Mrs. Abens loved to cook for the church.

Survivors include her husband, Harlan E. Abens of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Uriah and Taffi Abens of Huntington; grandchildren, Joshua Abens, Samuel Abens, Benjamin Abens, and Abigail Abens; brother, Eugene Ryals of Dam B; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Bill Handy of Woodville, Francis and Jessie Freeman of Fred, Barbara Hart of Doucette, and Betty Jean Fry of Huntington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maurice and Judy Abens of Humboldt, Iowa and Keith and Jo Abens of Webster City, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nieces, Gina Renee Rawls and Melissa Freeman.

Pallbearers will be Jason Havard, David Holland, Jr., Shawn Fontenot, Justin Fontenot, Tim Fant, Chase Capps, Timothy Wilkerson, and Mike Neal.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
