Funeral services for David Harbour, Jr., 67, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Harbour was born February 23, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mabel Louise (Turner) and Cecil David Harbour, and died Thursday, October 12, 2017 in a local hospital.
Mr. Harbour lived in Lufkin all of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1970-72. He worked at the Paper Mill for 30 years and retired in 2015 from Lufkin Industries after 15 years of service. Mr. Harbour loved to fish and hunt. He was a huge fan of the Lufkin Panthers, as well as the University of Texas Longhorns. He was an amazingly devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and they were the light of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Bonita Harbour of Lufkin; daughter, Lacy Mize and husband Derrick of Lufkin; grandchildren, Noah Pavlic and Kaeson Mize, both of Lufkin; sister, Karan Graham and husband Robert of Lufkin; nephews, Wesley Graham and wife Amanda of Huntington and Aaron Graham and wife Kimberly of Lufkin; niece, Jennifer Dirksmeyer and husband Glen of Livingston; great-niece, Harper Graham of Lufkin; father-in-law, Wendell Morris of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Bobbie Stovall and husband, James of Baytown; aunts, Juanita Turner and Bertie Birdwell, both of Lufkin; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Kathy Modisette and husband Ray.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Mize, Wesley Graham, Aaron Graham, Glen Dirksmeyer and Tony Rawlinson.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
