Funeral services for Daniel “Dan” Lee Johnson, 35, of Apple Springs will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Lufkin with Pastor Mark Newton and Bob Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Dan was born June 22, 1982 in San Antonio, Texas to Judy (Allen) and Jeff Johnson, and died Monday, January 8, 2018 at his residence.
Dan had resided in Apple Springs for two years, after previously residing in Lufkin. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a wildlife biologist and a member of the organization of Professional Wetland Scientists. He loved fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. Dan attended First Baptist Church Lufkin.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Brittany Johnson of Apple Springs; daughter, Conley Claire Johnson of Apple Springs; parents, Jeff and Judy Johnson of Leland, Mississippi; mother-in-law, Cathy Ehrhardt of The Woodlands; sister, Ellen Lamb and husband Steven of Richardson; brother-in-law, Justin Ehrhardt of The Woodlands; nieces, Alison Lamb and Ava Lamb of Richardson; paternal grandmother, Hazel Johnson of San Angelo; maternal grandmother, Geraldene Allen of Lufkin; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marshall Johnson and maternal grandfather, Faine Allen.
Pallbearers will be Chance Kimbrough, Chris Adams, Keith Webb, Terry Anderson, Mark Brian, and Mike Bird.
