Memorial services for Butch Garber, 78, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Greater Love Tabernacle with Pastor Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment will be held in the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Garber was born August 15, 1940 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Iris Ludine (Taylor) and Oliver James Garber, and died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Garber had resided in Lufkin since 1968. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a concrete contractor. Mr. Garber was a member of Greater Love Tabernacle.
Survivors include is wife of 38 years, Teresa (Thompson) Garber of Lufkin; daughters, Tempest Gilbert of Huntington, Cheryl Ann Williford of Lufkin, and Trenna Kay Morgan of Houston; sons, Scott Gilbert of Lufkin and Tim Garber of Nacogdoches; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline Stewart of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Garber.
