Funeral services for Alan Clark, 72, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Johnson and Dr. Robert King officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee Cemetery in Timpson.
Mr. Clark was born June 27, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Sara Frances (Reeves) and Lee Roy Clark, and died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Clark was a lifelong resident of Lufkin, graduating from Lufkin High School with the Class of ’66, and from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. Alan worked at Lufkin Industries, Southland Paper Mill, and Temple Inland. He moved to Denton and worked construction while putting Frankie through college. He then returned to SFASU and received his Master’s in Education. He worked as a Diagnostician and was Co-Owner of Clark Psychological for 35 years. Mr. Clark loved his children and grandchildren deeply and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Frankie Clark of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Kristi Clark of Jasper, Shane and Jennifer Clark of Keller; daughter, Georgella Clark and fiancé Cody Pyle of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Anthony and Kacy Clark, Jacob Alan Clark, Aubrianne Clark, Christopher Alan Clark, James Clark, Sean Clark, Sarah Clark; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheryl and Dale Ford of Midlothian, Patrese Ward of Lufkin, Tamra and Mark Johnson of Huntsville, Alabama; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Horton of Copper Canyon, Bruce and Karen Horton of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Joe Don Clark, Brandon Pate, Jason Carter, Jarrod Ward, Chip Johnson, Greg Jones, Dachie Horton and Cody Pyle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Bazar, Terry Lynn Clark, Dennis Lee Clark, and Dale Ford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spondyloarthritis Association of America, 16360 Roscoe Blvd., Suite 100, Van Nuys, California 91406.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
