Jerry C. Bowman

Memorial services for Jerry C. Bowman, 74, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cindy Doran officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Mr. Bowman was born June 1, 1942 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Dorothy (Marks) and Walter D. Bowman, and died Sunday, May 7, 2017 in a local nursing home. Mr. Bowman resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and was a machinist at DEMCO Manufacturing in Diboll. Mr. Bowman was a great son, brother, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and growing flowers; he had a green thumb. Mr. Bowman was a Christian. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Kathryn Bowman of Liberty, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Curtis Howell of Diboll, Sharon Baxter of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Tawnya and Greg Perkins of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren, Stephanie Reynolds, Quinton Bowman, Brittnee Howell, Krysta Stancomb, Trey Brossman, Ryan Maurin, Sierra Maurin, Kera Tucker, Thomas Tucker, and Brianna Perkins; great-grandchildren, Richie Reynolds, Bonnie Stancomb, Connor Brossman, Annzleigh Brossman, and Elijah Cambre; father, W.D. “Papa D” Bowman of Diboll; sister, Betty Bowman Martin of Lufkin; stepsister, Shirley Terrell of Diboll; stepbrothers and sister-in-law, Wayne Nash and Carroll and Barbara Nash, all of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Bowman; mother, Dorothy Bowman; sister, Deanna Bowman Sandifer; granddaughter, Stacy Bowman; stepmother, Inez Bowman; and numerous step-siblings. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane, Suite B, Centennial, Colorado 80112. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
