Carla Diane Alvis

Funeral services for Carla Diane Alvis, 39, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery. Ms. Alvis was born August 29, 1977 in Lufkin, Texas to Norma (Terry) and Charles Alvis, and died Thursday, December 15, 2016 in a Nacogdoches hospital. Ms. Alvis graduated from high school in Granbury, and had worked as a manager for Polk Oil and Dollar General. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her son, Austin Cole Mullan of Lufkin; mother and stepfather, Norma and Carl Douglas “Doug” Shives of Lufkin; brothers, Billy Wayne Alvis of Lufkin, Micah Cooper of Grapeland, and Dustin Alvis of Lufkin; sisters, Amanda Harmon and husband David of Lipan and Billie Alvis of Lufkin; daddy, Ronnie Applegate of Kilgore; grandmothers, Melva Terry and Delois Alvis, both of Lufkin; and a number of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Alvis; brother, Jason Alvis; and grandfathers, Don Terry and Billy Alvis. Pallbearers will be David Harmon IV, David Harmon III, Luke Harmon, Billy Alvis, Cyler Ross, and Micah Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Shives, Ronnie Applegate, and Joe Terry.
