Linda Roberts Colwell

Funeral services for Linda Roberts Colwell, 64, of Huntington will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jackson Colwell and family officiating. Interment will follow in the McNiel Cemetery.

Mrs. Colwell was born November 7, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Ellen (Hodge) Roberts and Albert Roberts, and died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Colwell was Salutatorian of the Class of 1970 at Zavalla High School. She married Jackson Colwell July 11, 1970 and was the most faithful and loving wife a man could have. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother. Linda loved the Lord Jesus and faithfully served beside Jackson as church pianist for over 30 years. She also taught children’s Sunday school and AWANA. Mrs. Colwell was a member of Harmony Odell Baptist Church in Huntington.

Survivors include her husband of almost 46 years, Jackson Colwell; son, Paul Colwell; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristen and Sam Williams and Manda and Ricky Page; grandsons, River Page, Truett Page, Jack Page and Caul Page; granddaughters, Julie Kae Colwell, Karly Williams, Tatum Williams and Avery Williams; great-grandson, Jancyn Ogg; sister and brother-in-law, Dora Jean and Lynn George; mother-in-law, Sarah Colwell; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Randy and Bennilynn Colbert, Tim and Julie Kay, and Brad and T.J. Colwell; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Joy Dean and Jr. Ellis; brother, Welton Roberts; and father-in-law, Euel Colwell.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and sons-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated to the Solid Rock Youth Ministry, 16663 FM 2109, Zavalla, Texas 75980.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones Wednesday evening at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
