Fannie Frances Smith (Sain)

Funeral services for Fannie Frances Smith (Sain), 86, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Klund officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. Mrs. Smith was born July 15, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henery and Lilly May (Athey) Amos and died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at her residence in Lufkin. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, loving mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, James H. McRae of Marshall and Harry S. McRae of Lufkin; daughters, Pamela A. Busby, Patricia M. Cummins, and Frances J. Putnam all of Lufkin; 12 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years (in 1971), William Thomas Sain and her son, Thomas William Sain. Pallbearers will be T.K. Putnam, David Loftin, Michael McRae, Greg Gorden, Michael Staples, and Bob Cummins. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
