Evelene Triana Moncrief

Funeral services for Evelene Triana Moncrief, 65, of Huntington will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Bro. Bill Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.

Mrs. Moncrief was born August 31, 1948 in Corrigan, Texas to Joseph Buford and Bonnie Mae (Schaeffer) Huffman, and died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Moncrief had resided in Huntington for 14 years. She had previously worked for Texas Home Health. She was very crafty and loved to crochet. Her favorite thing was playing with her grandchildren. Mrs. Moncrief was very spiritual, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Leslie Moncrief of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Timothy Loving, Susan and Johnny Gutierrez, all of Magnolia, Dana and Michael Smith, and Amy Moncrief, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Crystal Martinez and husband Victor, Timothy Loving, Jr., Sarah Triana, Tori Thorndyke, Meagan Hilton, James Hilton, Laura Gutierrez, Mason Smith, Alyssa Girdler, Caleb Girdler, and Ethan Girdler; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Huffman of Lufkin; sisters, Betty Colvin of Corrigan and Diane Worstel of Arkansas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Buford Huffman and Bonnie Tomon; stepfather, Walter Tomon; and sister, Joanne Ramey.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Gutierrez, Michael Smith, William Ashworth, Jesse Colvin, Kevin Keele, Trey Atkinson, Eric Smith and Erly Cantu.

Honorary pallbearer will be Victor Martinez.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
