Funeral services for James Wesley Ferguson, 62, of Lufkin will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Oberlechner and Brother Ernest Massingill officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.
Mr. Ferguson was born May 18, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to Bessie (Richards) and Elbert Ferguson, Sr., and died Monday, December 23, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Ferguson was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers and reading the Bible. Mr. Ferguson loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Sonlight Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Rita Ferguson of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Cherita Ferguson and Jamie Beauchamp of Lufkin, Tammy and Michael Hightower of San Augustine and Sherry and Mike Haggard of San Antonio; son and daughter-in-law, John and Bethany Carnley of Lufkin; grandchildren, Braiden, Michael and Hunter Hightower, Tytus and Kylie Beauchamp, Natalie, Johnathan, Reba and Chase Carnley, Chris, Zachary and Geoffrey Carter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and David Hunt, Mary and Doyle Bishop, and Lois Hale, all of Lufkin; brothers, Elbert Ferguson, Jr. and Eliga Ray Ferguson, both of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Patsy Riggs and Carolyn White, both of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Sammy White of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Blaine Beauchamp; parents-in-law, Ruth and A.B. White; and brother-in-law, Kenneth White.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Linton, Chuck White, Kerry White, Bert Ferguson, Terry C. Smith and Ray Ferguson, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Martin, Sammy White, Tim Carter, Geoffrey Carter, Chris Ferguson, Chris Carter, Billy White and Zach Carter.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Karnati, Dr. Khan, Dr. Cheriyan, and their nurses, also to Woodland Heights ICU, Stepdown and Respiratory.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
