Judge Claude F. Marshall, Jr.

Funeral services for Judge Claude F. Marshall, Jr., 62, of Zavalla will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett and Brother Steve Rye officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Concord Cemetery under the auspices of the Angelina Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M.

Judge Marshall was born August 28, 1951 in Jasper, Texas to Opal (Hopson) and Claude F. Marshall, Sr., and died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in a local hospital. He had resided in Zavalla all his life.

Judge Marshall had been a Justice of the Peace in Angelina County for 16 years. He was a member of the Angelina Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Doil Jean Marshall of Zavalla; son and daughter-in-law, Chase and Chassidy Marshall of Zavalla; daughter, Ashley Marshall of Zavalla; grandchildren, Paige Marshall, Justus Marshall, Kynlie Marshall, and Carson Ryder Marshall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Donna Marshall of Zavalla and Michael Marshall of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Bobby Ingle and Cheryl and Gaston Sanders, all of Humble; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ada and Joe Bill Langston of Lumberton and Joy and David Jordy of Zavalla; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude, Sr. and Opal Marshall; grandson, Elijah Graceson Marshall; sister, Charlotte Marie Blair; and nephew, Little Dave Jordy.

Pallbearers will be Greg Langston, Mike Langston, Scotty Langston, Michael Blair, Kevin Floyd, Timothy Jordy, Stacy Langston and Jess Williams.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Houston Office, 2400 Augusta Drive, Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
