John H. "Johnny" York

Funeral services for John H. “Johnny” York, 77, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hails Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. York was born March 4, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas to Raymond and Lena (Wilkerson) York, and died Friday, October 25, 2013 in a local care facility. He was a lifetime resident of Lufkin.

Mr. York earned a BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1958. He retired from TXDOT and was a long time member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty York of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Jim Bradley of Grapevine; granddaughter, Haley Bradley of Grapevine; grandson, Trent Bradley of Grapevine; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Ronnie Pat Durham of Nacogdoches; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Tommye Jo Redd.
