Memorial services for Saundra (Fenley) Davis-Montalbano will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cary Modisett and Brother Elton Musick officiating.
Saundra was born in Lufkin but resided all her adult life in Houston. She passed away after a short but courageous battle with leukemia.
Saundra graduated from Central High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. She retired from Continental Airlines after 45 years of service. Her job with Continental afforded her an opportunity to travel the world and she readily took advantage of it. Saundra was an avid outdoors woman. She loved the water...rivers, lakes, and most of all fishing.
She was a member of the St. Christopher Episcopal Church in Houston where she served on the Alter Guild for five years. She also enjoyed 35 years with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she served on several committees. She was an active member of the NWTF Women in the Outdoors Organization for seven years, secretary of the Lone Star CB Club for two years and a member of the DAR since 1964.
Survivors include her husband, David Montalbano of Pollok; sons, Chad Fenley Davis of Palestine and Trey Logan Davis of Bryan; grandsons, Jordan Smith of College Station and Trent Hawkins of Kemah; mother, Loyce Fenley of Pollok; and sister, Lawana Ray of Lufkin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Fenley; and brother-in-law, Jerry Ray.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS), 5433 Westheimer, Suite 300, Houston, Texas 77056, the Jerry Ray Memorial Vocal Scholarship, P.O. Box 1768, Lufkin, Texas 75902-1768, or a charity of your choice.
