Noel Gene Brown

Memorial services for Noel Gene Brown, 71, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jeff Moats and Brother Charles M. Roberts officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Noel Brown was born October 13, 1941 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Marrion Douglas Brown and Veatrice Elisabeth (Stracner) Brown, and passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at his residence.

He received his B.A. from St. Edwards University in Austin in 1972. Mr. Brown worked for Pollock Paper Distributors in Austin and Amsan-Texas in Lufkin before he retired.

He loved hunting and fishing and his family and friends meant so much to him. He was a current member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Shirley Upton.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brown of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Venson Jordon of Stephenville; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Don Keller of Denver, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Kristie Brown of Stephenville; grandchildren, Damon Crabb, Breann Crabb, AJ Brown, Christian Brown, and Travis Brown; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sheveland of Lufkin; niece and husband, Tami and Michael Hurley and daughters Lauran and Catherine Chapman of Victoria; step-niece, Pat Conroy of Denver, Colorado; cousins, Sonny Lippencott, Pat Finn, Charles Brown and George Brown; step-nephew-in-law, Richard and Catherine Sheveland and sons Nick, Michael, and Stephen; step-niece, Debbie and John Mills and daughters Tabitha and Summer, and son Chris.
