Judy A. Box

Judy A. Box, 73, of Lufkin died Sunday, July 28, 2013 in a Lufkin hospice facility. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Carroway Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Ms. Box was born September 24, 1939 in Navasota, Texas to the late Nancy (Taylor) and John Cummins Hicks. She had been employed as a receptionist for Dr. William Wagnon for more than 25 years. Ms. Box was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and had lived in Lufkin for the past 40 years.

Survivors include her son, Mark Purvis and special friend Tanya Lout of Lufkin; daughters, Nancy Purvis Lightfoot and husband Michael, and Kelly Box, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, J.C. Purvis, Leslie Burns, Justin Hill, Meagan Lightfoot and Jerry Wise, and Reagan Robinson; great-grandchildren, Brylee, Brody and Nolan Burns, and Bentley Lightfoot; special friends, Patrick and Diane McClain of Lufkin and their daughters, Danyelle and Samantha McClain; one niece; one nephew; and several other relatives.

Ms. Box was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Pete Hicks.
