Joe Kelly Gipson

Funeral services for Joe Kelly Gipson, 88, of San Antonio will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hartsell officiating. Interment will follow in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Gipson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and friend, died Friday, February 1, 2013 in San Antonio. He was born May 31, 1924 in Lufkin, Texas to Ross and Minnie Lou (Ball) Gipson.

Mr. Gipson proudly served his country during World War II as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was involved in numerous civic organizations in Lufkin and San Antonio. He also served as President of Texas Independent Insurance Adjusters and was Vice-President of Lindsey & Newsom Insurance Adjusters for more than 42 years. Mr. Gipson was a member of the Northside Church of Christ in San Antonio.

His is survived by his wife, Ruth Gipson of San Antonio; son, Joe Michael Gipson and wife Connie of Lufkin; daughter, Kelly Gipson of San Antonio; and grandson, Joe Ross Gipson of Lufkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wednesday Morning Men's Bible Class at Northside Church of Christ.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the funeral services.
