Funeral services for Kyle Lee Syler, of Diboll will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Turner and Reverend Gary Forrest officiating.
Mr. Syler was born June 11, 1957 in Clear Lake, Texas to Irene (Chute) and Weldon H. Syler, and died Thursday, February 10, 2011 in a local hospital. He had resided in Diboll for 30 years. Mr. Syler loved his life, whether it was raising his Brangus cows or driving his prized Corvette. His daughter was his pride and joy, and he enjoyed many years of showing cattle with her, and activities through 4-H, livestock, Texas A&M and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Linda Syler of Diboll; daughter, Dr. Lindsay Syler of Shawnee Prairie; mother, Irene (Chute) Smith of Lufkin; father and stepmother, Weldon H. and Signora Syler of DeSoto; brother and sister-in-law, Bryan E. and Judy Syler of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Kevin Swank of Plano; stepfather, Earl Smith of Georgetown; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy Poland and T.J. and Brad Colwell, all of Shawnee Prairie; and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Booth and Edna Syler; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tommie and Joe Poland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Swank, Brandon Syler, Brad Bardsley, Brad Colwell, Clay Colwell, Cole Colwell, Terry Mason, Dr. Daniel W. Salas, Shane Stafford, Bill Cawley and Matt Syler.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Angelina County 4-H, 2201 South Medford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
