Funeral services for Louie Reeves McNeese, 100, of Zavalla will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Williams officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
Mrs. McNeese was born January 3, 1910 in Panola County, Texas to the late Beulah (Adams) and Thomas Middleton Reeves, and died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in a local hospital. A former resident of Houston and Pasadena, she had resided in Zavalla for 10 years. Mrs. McNeese retired from Pasadena Memorial Hospital and worked in the nursery at Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Gail McNeese of Houston; daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Bill Watson of Plum Ridge and Vencie and Don Hill of Pasadena; daughter-in-law, Shirley McNeese of Louisville, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McNeese was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McNeese; son, Wayne A McNeese; grandson, Farrell Hill; and eight siblings, Buford, Hulen, O.D., Ivy, Alton, Vergie, one infant sister, and the famous country singer, Jim Reeves.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Hill, Rex Hill, Bobby McNeese, Travis McNeese, Cliff McNeese and Jared Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hill, Carson Arnold, Darrell McNeese, Michael McNeese, Jordan McNeese, Tanner Hill, Michael Arnold and Conner Gaines.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 965 Ralph Nerren Road, Huntington, Texas 75949.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Huntington.
