Patrick Michael Porter

A Celebration Service for Patrick Michael ""Pat"" Porter, 46, of Huntington will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Huntington First Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. The family will receive friends before and after the Celebration Service.

Mr. Porter was born April 28, 1965 in Dallas, Texas to Gloria Ann (Fenley) and Billy Lee Porter, and died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Porter was a lifetime resident of Huntington, and graduated as Salutatorian of the Huntington High School Class of 1983. He earned Bachelor?s Degrees in Sociology and History from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a mason with the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M., and a member of Huntington First Baptist Church. Mr. Porter walked hand in hand with Jesus from an early age. He was beloved by all.

Survivors include his parents, Ann and Billy Porter of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Leigh Anne and David Jordan of Huntington; niece, Brittney Jordan of Huntington; uncles and aunts, Harold W. and Margie Porter, Denny Porter, Pate and Linda Fenley and Paul Fenley, all of Lufkin; special aunts, Frankye Terry and Lou Anne Cochran, both of Huntington; numerous cousins and friends; and five beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Beatrice (McBryde) Porter and Jim and Pauline (Whitlock) Fenley; and nephew, Infant Jordan.
