Wynelle Elizabeth Clark

November 3, 1945 — February 13, 2018

Funeral services for Wynelle “Wendy” Elizabeth Young Adams Cosper Clark, 72, of McKinney will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Fullen officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Wynelle was born November 3, 1945 in Pasadena, Texas to the late Dorothy (Simon) and Ottis Young. Sr., and died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Clifton.

Wynelle was retired from North Texas Legal Services where they provide legal care for the underprivileged. She was inspired by their clients’ stories of need and survival and wanted to be a part of making their lives better. She was a member of First Baptist Church McKinney for over 30 years. Wynelle sang in the choir, participated in mission trips and wrote articles for her Sunday School’s newsletter. Through every season of life her friends at FBC were her joy and her anchor.

Wynelle was most happy with a candle burning, music playing and something baking in the oven. She was happier still with a friend on the way so she could feed them. Wynelle loved children. She authored seven children’s stories to pass along some of her virtues. As the life of the party and lifelong flirt, it was not surprising when a male nurse at the hospital recently said, “I remember her. She used to get up and dance with me at the parties at Sunset Nursing Home”. It’s comforting to know that she’s dancing once more.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Black; and brother, Philip Young.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Adams of Waco; Angela’s father, Horace Adams and wife Lois of Nacogdoches; brothers, Melvin Young and wife Delories of Houston and Ottis Young, Jr. and wife Joan of Magnolia; sister, Patricia Fullen and husband Mike of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Carol Young of Poyen, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews that she dearly loved – especially when they fought over who was her favorite.

A special thanks to the staff at Lutheran Sunset Nursing Home in Clifton, Texas. They brought out the best in mom when she was at her worst and made these last years more meaningful.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Young, Hugh Young, Scott Young, Rodney Hancock, Hal Wilcox, Justin Carnley, Marty Young, and Stuart Burson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Young, Jon Hancock, Jeff Hancock, Reid Wilcox, Garrett Wilcox, Travis Young, and Mark Kasella.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, East Texas Regional Office, 304 N. Raguet Street, Suite C, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
