Wonda Jean Jopling

Funeral services for Wonda Jean Jopling, 85, of Nacogdoches will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Perritte Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Rita Sims and Reverend Keith Broyles officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Garrison.

Mrs. Jopling was born August 28, 1936 in Panola County, Texas to the late Thelma (Murphy) and Johnnie Lee Harvey, and died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Jopling resided in Nacogdoches most of her life. She retired from Stephen F. Austin State University where she was a registrar. Mrs. Jopling was a member of the Garrison Heritage Society and a longtime member of Perritte Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Floyd Jopling of Nacogdoches; daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Mark Cook of Lufkin; grandsons and wives, Kyle and Tina Hensley, Klint Hensley, Blake and April Cook, and Will and Hannah Cook; great-grandchildren, Kole, Lucas, and Tucker Hensley, Gentry and Cami Cook; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Ron Luman of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Malcom and Martha Harvey of Conroe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wiley Jopling; and sister, Vickie Christiansen.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Hensley, Klint Hensley, Blake Cook, Will Cook, Tim Harvey, and Lee Harvey.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
