Funeral services for William K. “Bill” Sanders, 72, of Corrigan will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Damascus Baptist Church with Brother Charlie Hodge and Brother John Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Glendale Cemetery in Trinity County.
Mr. Sanders was born August 24, 1952 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Evajean Parnell and William M. Sanders, and died Saturday, July 19, 2025 in Corrigan, Texas.
Mr. Sanders moved to Corrigan in 1967. He was employed by Louisiana-Pacific as a maintenance supervisor for 25 years. In 1997, he became the owner and operator of a semitruck until 2016. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, his most prized possession was a 12.79lb bass out of Sam Rayburn which was caught on February 19, 1994 and happened to fall on his mother’s birthday, who had passed away the month before. He also caught at least five more fish over 10lbs. Mr. Sanders passed away just minutes before his son’s birthday. Most of all, he loved and enjoyed every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Sanders of Corrigan; daughter, Kelly Knott of Groveton; grandchildren, Erika Knott and William Knott; brothers-in-law, Dale Rice of Crossett, Arkansas, Sammy Lane and Janie Alsbrooks of Glendale Community; nephew, Ricky Rice of Crossett, Arkansas; niece and husband, Tammy and Crawford Adams of Crossett, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith Sanders; sister, Donna Rice; brother-in-law, Melvin Redden; and sister-in-law, Deborah Oller.
Pallbearers will be William Knott, Tim Locke, Bo Stanford, Butch Sullivan, Timothy Skinner, Derrick Knott, Crawford Adams, and Ken Hughes.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
