William C. "Bill" Richardson, Jr.

Funeral services for William C. “Bill” Richardson, Jr., 76, of Zavalla will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Jackson Colwell officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery under the auspices of the Angelina Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Richardson was born December 11, 1942 in Henderson, Texas to the late Annie Ruth (Taylor) and William Curtis Richardson, and died Monday, May 13, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mr. Richardson had resided in Zavalla for 45 years and was a truck driver for Jack Cooper Truck Lines for 40 years. He was a member of the National Guard, American Legion, Past Master of Sampson Lodge No. 231 A.F. & A.M., Past Patron of Crosby Chapter No. 261 OES, Angelina Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M., Houston Scottish Rite, Kenedy Commandery #61, Goose Creek Chapter and Council, District Deputy Grand Master (1997) of Masonic District 30-F, and Past Patron of Zavalla Chapter #952 OES. Mr. Richardson was a member of Zavalla First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Delois Richardson of Zavalla; son, Darrell Richardson of Kilgore; stepdaughters, Charity Mott of Lufkin, Jessica Mott Mann of Zavalla, Linda Elliott of New Caney, and Linda Durr of Indiana; stepsons, Anthony Elliott of New Caney and Steve Elliott of Houston; special granddaughter and partner in crime, Kennady Mann; brother, Jimmy Richardson and wife Gloria of Henderson; sister, Nancy Selman of Longview; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Murray and Sarah Wilson and husband Cleon, all of Lufkin, and Barbara Jenkins and husband Joe of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Edna Richardson; and second wife, Josie Richardson.

Pallbearers will be Adam Carter, Shane Carter, Kevin Roebuck, Randal Massey, Stephen Massey, and Tom Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Angelina Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zavalla Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 211, Zavalla, Texas 75980.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home in Huntington.
