William R. "Bill" Mount

Funeral services for Staff Sgt. William R. “Bill” Mount (Ret.), 83, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Jones officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Mount was born April 5, 1934 in Old Fort, Ohio to the late Patricia (Watson) and Robert Charles Mount, and died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in a local hospital. Formerly of Yuma, Arizona, he had resided in Lufkin for nine years. Mr. Mount retired as Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Marine Corps following 21 1/2 years of service.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Patricia A. Guinn of Lufkin; brother, Edward T. Mount and wife Linda of Lufkin; niece, Gayle Mount Jones and husband Cecil of Lufkin; nephew, Scot Mount and wife Christy of Kyle; great-niece, Brianna DiLorenzo and husband Michael of Lufkin; and great-great-nieces, Emily DiLorenzo and Olivia DiLorenzo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Buckley, Richard Odom, Scot Mount, Cecil Jones, Keith Jones, and Michael DiLorenzo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Angelina County Senior Citizens Center, 2801 Valley Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
