Funeral services for William Ray Kilgore, Sr., 82, of the Beulah Community will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Comstock and Reverend Rodney Goins officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Kilgore was born May 14, 1936 in Cherokee County, Texas to the late Roxie (Middleton) and Henry Kilgore, and died Monday, April 1, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Kilgore had resided in the Beulah Community for 42 years. He retired from Champion Paper Mill following more than 32 years of employment as a millwright. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, carpentry work, and spending time with family, and loved to swing his grandchildren on his tire swing. Mr. Kilgore was a charter member of First Assembly of God of Diboll.
Survivors include his wife, Alice (Davis) Kilgore of the Beulah Community; daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Inocente Perez of the Beulah Community; daughters-in-law, Billie Ann Kilgore and Nelda Kilgore, both of Diboll; grandchildren and their spouses, Patrick and Lynda Kilgore, Alicia Hernandez and Megan Baldree, Gloria and Casey Dunlap, Michael and Alissa Kilgore, Kaitlin Perez and fiancé Jordan Lewis; great-grandchildren, Shelby Harrell, Allee Hernandez, Zackory Hernandez, Garen Dunlap, Maddyson Hernandez, Cassidie Kilgore, Wyatt Kilgore, Tristan Kilgore, Reilly Kilgore, Nicolas Kilgore, and Mya Lewis; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Linda Kilgore of Kerrville; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, William Ray Kilgore, Jr. and Arthur Lee Kilgore; sisters, Elsie Swallows and Betty Howell; and brother, Floyd Kilgore.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Kilgore, Casey Dunlap, Megan Baldree, Johnny Swallows, Henry Swallows, Jimmy Smith, Jordan Lewis, and Vernon Swallows.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zackory Hernandez, Garen Dunlap, Wyatt Kilgore, Reilly Kilgore, Tristan Kilgore, and Nicolas Kilgore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Diboll Building Fund, 100 E. Borden Drive, Diboll, Texas 75941.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
