Memorial services for William Travis “Bill” Harbuck, 64, of Lufkin will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Jerry Spann officiating. His burial will follow at a later time at Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Bill was born March 23, 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late William Delton Harbuck and Jo Elizabeth “Betty” Harbuck. Bill died at his residence Saturday, June 15, 2019.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Lufkin, where he attended Lufkin Public Schools. He later worked at the Lufkin Workshop and Opportunity Center for 27 years. Bill enjoyed working with his hands, building a variety of items. Working at the farm with his Dad was his greatest joy. His musical talent and love for stringed instruments such as the keyboard, bass guitar, banjo and the dulcimer were a major enjoyment of his life. Bill was a member of Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene and he loved his church.
Surviving Bill are his sister and brother-in-law, Markye and Richard Adams of Lufkin and his brother, Delton Blake Harbuck, also of Lufkin. Also surviving Bill is his niece and her husband, Brittany and David Harris. He is survived also by his great-nephew and great-niece, Braxton and Hadley Harris, all of Lufkin. He is survived by several aunts, Brenda Blake of Lufkin, Marjorie Burris of Port Neches, Nancy Sandrock of Beaumont, and Jeanette Gilbert of Lufkin. He is also survived by numerous cousins.
