Welton W. Parker

Jul 12, 1943 — Oct 5, 2026

Lufkin, TX

Graveside services with military honors for Welton W. Parker, 83, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nacogdoches, with Pastor Bryan Lipscomb officiating.

Mr. Parker was born July 12, 1943, to the late Ezelle (Cox) and Rex Parker and passed away peacefully at his home on October 5, 2026.

Mr. Parker proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army and retired from Lufkin Industries after more than 20 years of service. Welton was a devout Christian who served as a deacon and was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church.

He had a very strong sense of right and wrong, especially when it came to his family. He had an infectious smile, a wicked laugh, and was known to stir the pot every now and again with his playful pranks. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, and would often hide gold coins or fifty-cent pieces for them to discover as they searched for hidden treasure in the backyard dirt pile. Everything he did had purpose and meaning, and he will be deeply missed. One of his favorite phrases was, “Around and around we go.”

Survivors include his wife, Nina Parker; his daughters, Lisa Sebaugh and husband, Robert, of Chester, and Diana Parker of Lufkin; his son, Daniel Parker and wife, Beth, of Tennessee; grandchildren, Andrew Sebaugh, Natalie Pantermuehl and husband, Tyler, Dylan Snook, Ryan Snook, Kale Winkles, Ashlyn Parker, Kayla Parker, and Blake Parker; seven great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses, James and LouAnn Parker, Paula and Don Bridges, and Liz Bridges; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma McShan Parker; his parents, Rex and Ezelle Parker; and siblings and spouses, Lynne Parker, Lou and Gerald Drake, Thomas and Pam Parker, Sue and Elzie Wood, and Ronnie Bridges.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 4423 Ted Trout Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Carroway Funeral Home.
