Weldon Denman Knox

Funeral services for Weldon Denman Knox, 90, of Corrigan will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Wakefield Baptist Church with Brother David Wars officiating and eulogies by Marc Perkins and Kelley Knox. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Union Springs Cemetery.

Weldon Knox was born June 14, 1936 in Corrigan, Texas to Margie Clemotine (Watson) and Donnis Denman Knox, and died Sunday, September 6, 2026 in Corrigan. He was a strong, hardworking man who lived a life of love, faith, service, and family.

Weldon proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. The strength, discipline, and dedication he gained through his service remained with him throughout his life.

Above all, Weldon loved Jesus. He devoted his life to serving God and helping others. He helped start multiple churches throughout the Houston area and traveled on missionary trips to share his faith and serve others.

To his family, Weldon was a loving husband, father, and the heart of his family. He and his beloved wife, Betty, shared a life filled with love, faith, laughter, and devotion. He was a devoted father to Paul, Jay, Peggy, John, and Billy, teaching them through his words and example.

Weldon enjoyed weight training, staying active, and playing golf. He approached life with determination, strength, and perseverance.

His life was one of service - to his country, family, and God. Those who knew him will remember his faith, work ethic, independence, and love for his family.

His family can take comfort in knowing that his life mattered. The churches he helped establish, people he served, and lives he touched are part of the legacy he leaves behind.

Though he is no longer here, his love, lessons, faith, and memory will remain.

Weldon Knox lived a life of service, strength, faith, and love. He loved his wife, cherished his children, proudly served his country, and devoted his life to Jesus.

He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Sandy Knox, Jay Knox, all of Corrigan, and John and Kelly Knox of Colmesneil; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Joe Perkins of Corrigan; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nephew and wife, Richard and Peggy Knox of Savannah, Georgia; niece, Cindy Larson of Brown City, Michigan; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Knox; son, Billy Knox; and brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Mary Knox.

Pallbearers will be Michael Knox, Kelley Knox, Eric Knox, James Knox, John Knox II, Ronnie Knox, Tanner Shepherd, Trevor Shepherd, Marc Perkins, and Charlie Perkins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home Corrigan.
