Wanda Lou Pyle

Funeral services for Wanda Lou Pyle, 85, of Huntington will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Bobby Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Ms. Pyle was born April 25, 1933 in Kennard, Texas to the late Willie Sarah (Frizell) and Richard Boyd Pyle, and died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her residence.

Ms. Pyle had resided in Angelina County most of her life. She was born into a family of 10 boys and 2 girls, which helped prepare her for being a homemaker and good mother. She was known for her cooking, quilting, fishing and playing the guitar. She attended Huntington Assembly of God.

Survivors include her children, Richard Jones and wife Suzanne of Hudson, Donna Whisenant and husband Larry of Hudson, Charlotte Havard of Huntington, Joe Jones and wife Laura of Hudson, Terry Jones and wife Deanna of Homer, Randy Jones of Huntington, and Denise Pickens and husband J.P. of Trent; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Donald Pyle and wife Charlene of Bald Hill; sister, Louise Musick of Vidor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Calvin Lynn Brookshire; and nine brothers.

Pallbearers will be Charlotte Havard, Keith Jones, Robert Whisenant, Jason Havard, Michael Jones, T.J. Jones, and Justin Conn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Jones and Timmy Whisenant.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Hospice in the Pines.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
