Wanda F. Marshall

Funeral services for Wanda F. Marshall, 84, of Zavalla will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Eddie Accord and Brother Louie Lawson officiating. A celebration of life will follow in the Carroway Family Reception Room. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Marshall was born July 6, 1939 in Leesville, Louisiana to the late Vaie (Holsomback) and L.C. Williams, and died Thursday, January 4, 2024 in her home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, and was a friend to many. If you met her, you loved her. She was affectionately known as “Nana” to all. She lived her life with such kindness and love for her family and bonus loved ones. Mrs. Marshall was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Denisea Marshall; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Stacey Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Sunny and Troy Day, all of Zavalla; grandchildren, Joe Marshall, Hunter and Christian Escue, Holly and James Hicks, Candice Ross, Amy Baker, Zack and Casey Moore, Jennifer Moore, Mandy Moore, Kailei and Tyler Broadway, Cody Day, Samantha and Steven Hinesley, and Tapanga Williams; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Marshall; sons, Kevin Marshall and Ernest Lynn Marshall; three brothers; two sisters; and sister by choice, Sue Hess.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Hicks, Devin Ross, Xander Baker, Kaige and Whitley Moore, Draven Olds, Jimmy Mullan, Beau Broadway, Greyson Day, Mason Hinesley, and Landon Hinesley.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning prior to the services.
