Wanda Jean (Winthrop) Dennis

Funeral services for Wanda Jean (Winthrop) Dennis, 72, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Brown and Reverend Jerry Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Dennis was born March 29, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Fannie Mae (Smith) and Archie Hugh Winthrop, and died Monday, November 5, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Dennis was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She retired form Brookshire Brothers following more than 20 years of employment. Mrs. Dennis attended Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby “Grandpa” Dennis of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Owens of Lufkin, Jason and Ashley Dennis of Conroe, and Keith Dennis of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Shanna and Josh Carriere of Lufkin and Misty Dennis of Wells; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Winthrop of Crystal Beach; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rene “Tink” Yates; son, John Adams; and 11 siblings.

Pallbearers will be Courtney “Jayne” Dusek, Dylan Huppe, Logan Dennis, Henry Boenisch, Brandon Carriere, and Cameron Dusek.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
