Wanda Knight Baker

Funeral services for Wanda Knight Baker, 78, of Diboll will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Erick Knight officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker was born July 2, 1939 in Burke, Texas to the late Ella Talitha “Litha” (Jackson) and Sam Houston Knight, and died Saturday, November 4, 2017 in McKinney.

Mrs. Baker resided in Diboll most of her life and had lived in McKinney for the last two years. She graduated from Diboll High School in 1957 and Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Mrs. Baker was a CPA for the State of Texas for over 20 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Burke Chapter, and attended Burke Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Gene T. Baker of Diboll; son, William Myles Baker of Shenzhen, China; daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Vince Svehla of Nacogdoches and Krista and Brett France of McKinney; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
