Walter Curtis Robertson

Funeral services for Walter Curtis Robertson, 87, of Lufkin will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Adam Logan officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Mr. Robertson was born February 19, 1938 in Maude, Oklahoma to the late Edna Mae (White) and Walter Clarence Robertson, and died Thursday, January 1, 2026 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Robertson had resided in Lufkin for 55 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist from 1957 thru 1961 and retired after many years in the sales industry. After retirement he was bored so he worked another seven years as a salesman for Brooks Grocery. He was an avid OU fan and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and country western dancing. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Robertson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Scott Robertson of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Patrick McClain, Lynda Richardson, and Robin and Doug Futch, all of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Steven and Erica Richardson of Crystal Beach, Krysta Robertson and Thomas Moser of Nacogdoches, Danyelle and Jessie Wallace of Lufkin, Jered and Ashley Robertson of New Braunfels, Camron and Cortney Richardson of Orange, Samantha and Adam Logan, Haley and Matt Johns, Hayden Futch, and Preston Robertson, all of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Rhyleigh Richardson, Maverick Richardson, Abbigale Wallace, Riley Robertson, Carson Richardson, Chesney Richardson, Claydon Richardson, Jace Logan, Reed Logan, and Elliott Johns; mother of his children and lifelong friend, Ida Saxton; cousins, James Elmer and Janice Sue; longtime friend, Russell Mullins; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra Ruth “Rosie” Robertson; one sister; and one brother.

Pallbearers will be Steven Richardson, Camron Richardson, Hayden Futch, Jessie Wallace, Adam Logan, Matt Johns, Thomas Moser, and Jered Robertson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the services.
