Virginia Ann Vardeman

Memorial services for Virginia Ann Vardeman, 71, of Huntington will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Pastor Lamar Denby officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vardeman was born July 10, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to the late Audra Virginia (Corcoran) and Ulmer Keith Rackley, and died Saturday, January 13, 2018 in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Vardeman had resided in Huntington since 2005 and was a Registered Nurse at Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Ozias Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Sampley and husband Richard of Huntington and Melody Vardeman of Hawkins; sons, Kirby Vardeman and wife Michelle of Russellville, Arkansas and Chris Vardeman of Huntington; grandchildren, Luke Sampley, Brook Sampley, Lane Sampley, all of Huntington, Hillyn Vardeman of Russellville, Arkansas, Dakota McCree of Beaumont, Tina Vardeman of Fairfield, Morgan Vardeman of Hawkins, and James Knecht of Russellville, Arkansas; sisters, Nelda Havard and husband James of Coal Hill, Arkansas and Barbara Perkins of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Wayne Vardeman; grandsons, Garrick J. Henry Jaynes and Barry Craig Nicholson; and brothers, Ulmer Keith Rackley, Jr., John Lewis Perkins, Jerry Vardeman and Jimmy Vardeman.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of Huntington Health and Rehabilitation for their loving care and attention given to Mrs. Vardeman.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the services.
