Virginia Bryan Ellis

Funeral services for Virginia Bryan Ellis, 84, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery.

Mrs. Ellis was born July 15, 1937 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Willie V. (Collins) Bryan Bean and Wilmer Bryan, and died Thursday, December 9, 2021 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Ellis resided in Lufkin most of her life and owned Ellis Grocery & Feed for many years. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Mrs. Ellis was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Belinda Simms of Lufkin and Andra and Joe Williams of Pollok; grandchildren and spouses, Jesse and Rachael Simms, Jim Scott and Kelsy Williams, and Samantha Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Alice Bryan of Lufkin; special friend, Karen Reynolds of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Zack Bean; husband, Samuel Scott Ellis; brothers, Alexander Bryan and Jerry Bryan; and special friend, Marie Ford.

Pallbearers will be Joe Bryan, Troy Stanbery, Jerry Williams, Jodie Reynolds, Jim Scott Williams, and Jesse Simms.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the services.
