Funeral services for Velva Juanita “Mamaw” Pyle, 89, of Huntington, will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Jess Slider officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pyle was born October 11, 1929 in Centralia, Texas, the daughter of the late Willie (Welch) and Charlie Brock. She died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mrs. Pyle was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Pyle enjoyed fishing. She loved God and was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include children, Sue Ener and husband Mike of Huntington, Delores (Squeaky) Pyle of Huntington, Micheal (Mikey) Pyle of Huntington, Sherry O’Brien of Lufkin, and Larry Pyle and wife Karen of Huntington; sisters, Charlene Pyle and husband Joe, Marie Pyle, all of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; twenty-two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Earl Pyle; brothers, J.D. Brock and Alferd Brock; sister, Faye Naron; and great-great grandson, Corbin Shaw.
Pallbearers will be John David Pyle, Chris Shaw, Scott Rodgers, Korey Hyman, Tyler Pyle, and Carson Pyle.
Honorary pallbearers are Cody Shaw, Matthew Fasske, Patrick Fasske, Justin Rodgers, Austin Pyle, James Pyle, Bryan Pyle, and Mickey Pyle.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Lufkin.
