Funeral services for Travis “Matt” Harris, 62, of Hudson will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Jones officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at the Aldredge Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M.

Matt was born September 29, 1961 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Marcia Dale (Cole) and Denzel Marion "Dink" Harris, and died Sunday, November 26, 2023 in a Tyler hospital.

Matt was a lifetime resident of Hudson and was the Parts Manager at Lufkin Industries where he had been employed for more than 30 years. He was a Mason with the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. Matt enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors on his tractor. He dearly loved his family and his dogs, as well as spending time with family and friends at his Harris Hilton Camp on the Neches River.

Matt was larger than life. He had an infectious smile, never met a stranger, and leaves a legacy of wonderful memories for his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Katrina (Allen) Harris of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jacob and Heather Harris of Lufkin, and Jerrett and Kalyn Harris of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Hayden, Natalee, Creed, Whitlee Jo, and Jett Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Keith Jones of Hudson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shane and Shannon Allen of Hudson; nieces and nephews, Justin Morehead, Jade Thompson, Josh Harris, Abbe Anne Rae, Alissa Ross, and Maggie Allen; and an abundance of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Harris; mother-in-law, Mary Allen; and brother-in-law, Nick Allen.

Pallbearers will be Jerrett Harris, Jacob Harris, Shane Allen, Bubba Tant, Dusty Stringer, John Howell, Dennis Shoemaker, and Daniel Shirley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Steel, David Paul Oates, Roho Jenkins, David Lawson, Michael Taylor, Steve Crawford, and Tony Wise.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
