Graveside services for Tommy Wilson, 57, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Berry Cemetery with Reverend Doyle Hodge and Reverend W. R. “Dub” Jenkins officiating.
Mr. Wilson was born September 26, 1960 in Pineland, Texas to the late Joyce Jane (Jenkins) and Raymond A. Wilson, and died Friday, November 10, 2017 in a local hospital.
Mr. Wilson had resided in the East Texas area all of his life. He retired from Lufkin Independent School District after working in the Grounds Department for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching his grandsons ride bulls.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Wilson of Lufkin; daughter, Carmen Gail Straps and husband Cliff of Lufkin; sons, Gary Lee Wilson and wife Angel and Andye Wallace, all of Lufkin; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Noble and husband Richard, Sr. of Lufkin, Ruby Boutain and husband Keith of Trinity, Virginia Hodge and husband Doyle of Leggett, and Sheila Adams and husband Steve of Pollok; brothers, James Wilson and wife Mae and Raymond Wilson II, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tommy Wayne Wilson; brother, Charlie Wilson; and sister Judy Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Wallace, Bryne Wilson, Andye Wallace, James Wilson II, Raymond Wisbey, and Daniel Straps.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas Springer, Doyle Hodge II, Joshua Adams, Danny Allen, and Lonnie Hollingsworth.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home.
