Funeral services for Tommy James Lovell, 77, of Huntington, will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Glenn D. Morton and Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery at Etoile.
Mr. Lovell was born April 25, 1942 in Winnfield, Louisiana, the son of the late Vera Sue (Jones) and Andy J. Lovell. He died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Lovell had been a truck driver for more than 40 years, working for himself and various others. He was affectionately known as “Bucket of Bolts,” which was his nickname and his C.B. handle. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor. Mr. Lovell enjoyed fishing, hunting, tractor work and bushhogging. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Lovell was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Corine Lovell of Huntington; his children, Lizzita McDaniel and husband Elbert, Jeffrey Scott Lovell, all of Huntington, James W. Lovell and fiancée Tammy of Lena, Louisiana, and Thresa Smith and husband Scott of Huntington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Bobby Lovell and wife Reba of Houston.
Mr. Lovell was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be David Chambers, Roger Chambers, Scott Smith, Gary Smith, James Cannon and Dustin Sherrard.
Honorary pallbearers are James Jarman, Justin Lovell, Brent Reynolds and Sammy Crain.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
