Funeral services for Tom N. Davis, 87, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Elton Musick and Brother John Boone officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Davis was born October 29, 1931 in Needville, Texas to the late Mary Jane (Sims) and Walter Davis, and died Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Davis had resided in Lufkin for more than 45 years after moving here from Houston. He was a carpenter and worked in road construction and was self employed most of his career. He was a very driven, self-made successful business man who was a perfectionist in his work. His reputation preceded him as people often sought him out for his services in construction. He loved traveling, going to the lake and boating, and had a love for animals. Mr. Davis was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Glenda Davis of Lufkin; children, Debbie Bray and husband Wayne of New Mexico, Richard Davis of Lufkin, Sharon Davis of Lufkin, and Ronald Davis and wife Angela of New Caney; stepchildren, Lance Tidwell and Amy Williams and husband Destrey, all of Lufkin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carol Starnes; and daughter-in-law, Reida Davis.
Pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Stephen Lindell, Lloyd Wallace, Brandon Davis, Charles Davis, and Joseph Sanchez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Destrey Williams and James Starnes.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice in the Pines for their loving care.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home.
