Tina Melissa "Missy" Strait Geraci

June 8, 1967 — November 3, 2023

Tina Melissa “Missy” Strait Geraci, 56, of Lufkin died Friday, November 3, 2023 in a local hospital. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Missy was born June 8, 1967 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Cleora Ethridge Perkins and Fred J. Strait.

Missy was a lifelong resident of Lufkin and helped run a local, family-owned hearing aid business. She was a loving mother to her two daughters, Sarrah and Shelby, sister, aunt, and friend.

Missy loved to travel and enjoyed numerous trips to The Bahamas. She also enjoyed a fabulous Italian cruise, family trips to Yellowstone and Alaska, and frequent excursions to Bossier City and Las Vegas. In association with the hearing aid business, Missy participated in numerous mission trips to Mexico, where she fit and dispensed hearing aids to hearing impaired children and adults.

Music was a huge love for Missy and she liked it loud. Her favorites were classic rock, pop, and some rap. She attended multiple concerts including Triumph, Madonna, Texas Jam, Celene Dion, Faith Hill & Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, and Jonas Brothers with her girls.

Missy was the ”cool aunt” to her nieces and nephews. She loved to dote on the younger ones with American Girl dolls and Disney trips. She was generous and loved to spoil her loved ones and took her daughters and nieces for pedicures regularly. Her favorite go-to OPI nail color was Cajun Shrimp!

Animals were her special love. She loved her Labradors and had many over the years. Her first babies were “Kaz” and “Goldie” and her special doggo recently was “Copper”.

Missy enjoyed being on the lake fishing, once being aboard a sinking boat and sustaining a cut on her arm from the propeller!

A few favorite pastimes include painting and coloring; watching Law & Order, NCIS, and Criminal Minds; and she loved reading, especially James Patterson novels.

Missy was a life-long learner, particularly with computer skills and programs associated with her role at the hearing aid clinic. She was an internet pioneer before the internet really took off for the rest of the world.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarrah Geraci Moody and husband Tyler of Georgetown, Shelby Geraci of Lufkin; longtime partner, Nicholas Console of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Phil Thrash, Judy and Mike Edger, Mary Lou McMullen, Allyson and Steve Bennett, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Greg Strait; and nephew, Kevin McMullen, Sr.

Charitable donations may be sent to Monastery of the Infant Jesus, 1501 Lotus Lane, Lufkin, Texas 75904. Flowers will be accepted at Carroway Funeral Home through Thursday, November 9, 2023.
