Theodora Duncan was welcomed into the world January 1, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She left a body that failed her Wednesday, July 26, 2017. What a lady and a life well-lived.
Theodora was married to Dr. Everett Duncan until his passing in 1971 and was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter Tody Sindelar (New Braunfels) and her son Dr. Tom Duncan (Lufkin). She shared with them her innate intelligence, and ensured they had excellent educations and constant encouragement and guidance.
In the early 1950s, while Tody and Tom were still young and long before it was common for ladies to become entrepreneurs, Theodora became a businesswoman and investor, building spec houses, brokering real estate, and immersing herself in finance.
As a grandmother to Kim Ploetz and Rob Sindelar, Theodora was a friend and mentor, and she delighted in the lives of her grandsons, Drew, Michael, Everett, and John Duncan. There are 11 precious great-grandchildren, ranging in age from 2 to 21.
Theodora traveled the world, always seeking out the local fun and customs. She played tennis daily well into her 70s. She was beautiful inside and out, always fashionable, and full of energy and fun stories. Everyone enjoyed being around her and she is missed.
She is survived by all of her progeny, as well as her daughter-in-law, Mary Duncan.
